Well Done Andrew!
Shining star Andrew has become the first learner in R.E.A.L.’s history to achieve a Level 3 Catering qualification.
Andrew has been attending R.E.A.L. Alternative Provision School (RAPS) at Woodhouse Road for the past few years, and has always shown great enthusiasm for the catering industry. He has worked his way through BTEC Home Cooking Skills, Level 1 NVQ Introduction to Hospitality and Level 2 NVQ in Food production to finally complete a Level 3 NVQ in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.
The team at Woodhouse Road are now supporting Andrew to prepare for his next steps. He has successfully completed a work placement at The Bakers Shop Cafe in Mansfield, and is looking at options for his next move – whether that be into the industry, or another educational course to further his hospitality career.
Linda Neville from the Woodhouse Road team said: “Andrew has been really helpful in supporting other learners that he has worked with, and has been my right hand man in the kitchen on a Thursday and Friday, helping me settle into my role at R.E.A.L. If I couldn’t find (or reach!) something, Andrew was always there to help me out.”
Andrew’s Learning Manager, Michele Fowler said: “We are so proud of Andrew and all his achievements, and have done everything we could to support him to achieve his goals throughout his time at R.E.A.L.
“We wish Andrew all the best in his future ventures and we hope he will come back and visit us to let us know how he is doing.”
“Well done, and good luck from Linda, Marie, Yolande and all the team at Woodhouse Road.”
