INSET Training Days
The annual R.E.A.L. in-house training days took place at the end of August for all staff.
This year, areas covered included ‘Coping with Risky Behaviours’, significant incident reporting, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and an annual safeguarding refresh.
The new ‘Safe and Sound’ enhancement for the R.E.A.L. staff mobile phone app was also launched at the INSET days. This new function allows teaching staff to inform their line managers that they are safe after their teaching commitments via their phone.
The content and delivery of the training days received extremely positive feedback from staff, and there were also some very innovative team building activities! As well as feeling generally supported by the wider R.E.A.L. team, there was also buzz around there always being something ‘new and developing’ at R.E.A.L.
This regular two day training event is part of the wider Continuing Professional Development (CPD) offer for staff at R.E.A.L. Staff also have a dedicated conference in January, and a menu of events and opportunities delivered throughout the year (last academic year R.E.A.L. delivered 90 separate training events!). This training ensures that R.E.A.L. learners receive the best possible care, teaching and service from R.E.A.L. staff members.
