New R.E.A.L. Site

R.E.A.L. staff are working hard to set up a new R.E.A.L. Education site.

The new site – perfect for Newark and Lincoln based learners – is located on the Brunel Business Park in North Newark. It is currently on track to be fully functional by October half term.

The new Newark site will initially house music technology courses, STEM (Science, Technology, English and Maths), wellbeing and functional snooker facilities, and will also be a base for one-to-one provision.

The music facilities at Newark will mirror the music provision at Mansfield, and will be headed up by new tutor Jodi Cave who has a masters degree in composition. Learners will be able to access shorter termly courses and the provision will also be open to Key Stage 3 learners (as opposed to just Key Stage 4 groups in Mansfield).

Nichola Goddard, Learning Manager, has been supporting the development of the site and already has significant interest from one-to-one learners who are keen to be part of this exciting project. Nichola said: “We are looking forward to working in a new location and reaching out to wider communities offering our R.E.A.L Education learning experience.”

Rob Lyons, Provision Manager and part of the team coordinating the opening of the site, said: “The Newark site will enable R.E.A.L. Education to build relationships with schools and referrers in the North East of the county, and in time, create a more permanent and diverse centre that will include other vocations and a larger, more flexible space to deliver them in.

“There is currently a high demand for alternative provision in the Newark / Lincolnshire area and we know that R.E.A.L. has the right mix of experience, knowledge and foresight to help improve the lives and education of young people in those areas who are currently lost in a mainstream setting.”
